10 Ways to Show Your Mom Your Love

Do you know what you're getting your mom this year for Mother's Day? Here are 10 ideas to help you get a jumpstart on her gift!

1. Pinterest has so many great ideas, and you could even make some yourself! DIY gifts somehow always seem to mean more to Mom.

3. Flowers are always, always a MUST for Mother's Day!!! Colorful bouquets, monochromatic bunches, it doesn't matter as long as they are her favorite, like tulips are my mom's favorite!

5. Take your favorite picture of you and your mom (or whole family), and have it printed out on a canvas! These are awesome gifts, and one that she'll treasure for a long time to come!

7. Finding Mom a sappy card bound to make her cry a little or finding a humorous card to make her laugh is so important, if not most important! They can help you to tell her how you feel, especially if you don't say if often enough!

8. Does your mom really love roses, but hates all the maintenance required for rose bushes? Buy her a rose tree! They are hardy, bloom for 9 months and need little to no maintenance!

9. Or if Mom's not into roses, buy her that big planter she's been eying, along with a gift card to her favorite greenhouse, so she can fill it how she wants!

10. Shower your mom with love! Breakfast in bed, leaving nothing for her to do but relax, taking her out for dinner and drinks, or just simply being there for her all make pretty awesome gifts!

All mothers deserve a special day. They put up with so much from newborns to teenagers to adults who still think they know everything. And moms seem to think that they only get one day to be truly appreciated. Let's make an effort to show our moms that they are valued beyond belief every single day!

Repurposed Drawer Bottoms - Mom/Grandma Sticker Quote

I had to share this last-minute item I made for the craft show tomorrow! 

Recently we bought new dressers for some of the children's rooms.  The old dressers were not a real high quality and you know how things last with children... not so well always!  Or is just my children?  Anyway, since I am so "Dutch" and don't like to throw away what I might use someday - I kept some of the drawers.  One of the drawer bottoms had come all the way out which gave me the idea to apply a Wall Sticker Quote to it!  I had my hubby rip all the rest of the drawer bottoms out.

Since it's Mother's Day soon and I am trying to "clean up", I made use of the drawer bottoms sitting around.  The one pictured above is my favorite and may end up at Mom's house if it doesn't sell (don't tell her!).

The drawer bottoms were stapled together in places.  Since this drawer bottom showed, on the front, the ripped out markings, I added a distressed look to it.  I used a hammer to add more nicks; then I sanded all the edges down.  Don't you love it?!  Ok, maybe it's just me....  I usually screw 3-4 things up before I get one effect that I like!

Mother's Day gifts ~ "Say it with Love"

Mother's Day is fast approaching.  I believe this may be the first year I have thought about Mother's Day gifts over a week in advance instead of the day before!  Maybe because we are preparing for a craft show this week..?  Yeah, that's why; so I can't pat myself on the back after all. =)

So our craft show is this week Saturday, May 5th in Parkston, SD at the Pony Creek Steakhouse from 9AM til Noon.  The photo above shows a couple of the items we will have on display and for sale that day.
