DIY Toy Stove for the Kiddos

Toys nowadays are so tech savvy, it amazes me that young kids even know how to use them! What happened to the good old fashioned outdoors, or even the games we made up using our imaginations?? Well, Wall Decor Plus More will try to bring some of them back by making our own toys.
You will need:
  • small or medium size plastic tote and lid
  • vinyl decals from yours truly
  • patience
Okay, so patience is just a suggestion if you want these stickers to go on smoothly and centered. The decals I mentioned are stove top decals. We are making our very own mini stove! And it even comes with storage for all the kitchen "utensils" your child will need! You can find those necessary utensils at Walmart for less than $15.

Now, for the instructions. Take the lid and make sure it is clear of dust and dirt. Set up the decals how you see them in the youtube video posted. Follow the rest of the directions and voila! You have your own play stove top for the
kiddos!

Enjoy "making" food with your little ones or sit back and watch them whip something up just for you!

Have a lovely day!

Check it out!! It looks like we have made some news! Well, it's not a headline in one the country's top newspapers, but it is still exciting! Wall Decor Plus More was in an article that was published by SheetLabels.com!
Wall Decor Plus More's creator, Kristi, was interviewed about how she started out. SheetLabels.com also mentioned that we have a few stay-at-home moms working for us, and three other employees. We are in the process of building a bigger shop, with more room to spread out, and make everything a little more organized and easier for us to get to. It is a very exciting time for us!

Squeegee Tool for Application of Wall Vinyl Sticker Decals

Wall Decor Plus More now offers a squeegee tool.  We recommend this industrial squeegee tool to use when applying our Wall Sticker Sayings, Zebra Decals, Growth Charts, etc.

The firm surface makes the rubbing part of application much better.  Also the large 3" edge is speedier than using a small credit card.

Add this tool to your order for only $3.  The squeegee tool is needed for any sticker that comes sandwiched between transfer tape.

A Tip for removing the backing of the Wall Sticker Shapes

Do you have trouble peeling the backing off our wall sticker shapes?  This comment was passed on to us and we have known this as we have applied numerous shapes in the past.  Some people don’t have problems and some just feel it is time-consuming.  So, to help you out, try this trick.  Use a piece a tape.  If you used tape to stick them to the wall before the actual application, to get a feel of how to space them, then you have a head start.  If not, just stick a tiny piece of tape, preferably painter’s tape that isn’t so sticky, either to the backing or the actual vinyl sticker.  If you pull back on the piece of tape, the backing should start to come away from the sticker.  If you stuck the tape to the vinyl sticker, carefully peel the tape off, after application is complete, being careful not to tear or stretch the sticker.  We continually are researching new and improved methods and you hear it first if we have a new and improved design to offer.

Application tips for Wall Vinyl Stickers - More Options

Here are some more options to keep in mind as you are applying Wall Vinyl Stickers from Wall Decor Plus More.  Our Wall Stickers come in  Large Circles (most popular), Large Rounded Squares, Hearts, Stars, Funky Circles, and Funky Rounded Squares.  The ones that can be most problematic are the large stickers in the circles and rounded squares.

A customer noted that she used a Bone Folder .  Be sure to choose one that has a straight side.
       Making Memories Bone Folder
You could use this on the back, sticky part after you remove the backing.  And/or you can use it to smooth/rub the sticker firmly on the wall.

You want to be sure, once the backing is off, that the sticker doesn't fold and stick together.  And secondly, do NOT stretch and tug the sticker.  The wall vinyl sticker is easily stretched, will lose its shape and cause bubbles or wrinkles.

Another option for application: painter's tape.  This method would be ideal for the rounded squares.  Be sure to use painter's tape that is less tacky allowing for easier removal.  Take a long piece of tape and adhere to your wall sticker shape - all the way across from top to bottom - while the backing is still on and lying on a flat smooth surface.  Next, tape the shape to the wall.  While holding the piece of tape straight, remove the backing.  The tape will keep the shape straight and eliminate a chance of stretching the wall vinyl.  Once the wall sticker shape is firmly adhered to the wall, peel the tape off.  Peel gently so that you do not remove the shape from the wall.
